- All of us have always needed to have software in its full version but unfortunately we come across some software download sites that offer us a trial or demo version that expired after a certain amount of time or that did not have all the full functionality of the software.
- And what at the end of the download we
realized that this software needed a certain license or crack or serial key ...
that we didn't have .
- But first of all defining some essential terms that most people confuse the meaning of.
- A crack (also called Cherry or Fruit by NZB users) is a program that is applied to software to modify its code, for example to use free paid software.
- When people redistribute cracked applications, this is called warez. Once a person has figured out how to crack a program, they can create a patch (a crack) that will allow others to unprotect the program without having to study its protection.
A crack should not be confused with a patch:
- A patch is the modification of an application (software, video games...) to bring a patch, new features, fix a bug, change the way an application works. The patch is, in general, provided by the creator of the software.
- Example: language translation patches used to change the language after installing a game .
